Messi, Suarez, Neymar: The Trident.

The greatest attacking trident in the history of football. 🔱

When it came to raw power and magic, there was nothing like the trident. The connection between the 3 was electric, and at times, telepathic. The lightning quick counter attacks, the sheer understanding with which the 3 would move the play up front; the MSN was unplayable at times.

Neymar was the archetypical winger; the beauty in the trident. He exuded elegance, and there was a certain grace with which he would caress the ball, like a mother with her baby. His blistering pace and skills were his biggest gifts. ✨

Suarez was the strength; the muscle. The modern number 9, Suarez’s role went beyond just scoring goals, his intelligence and positioning opened up gaps for the other 2 members of the trident to operate in. Suarez’s tireless energy and sheer striker instincts gave the MSN a much needed grit. 💪

Messi was the footballing anomaly; the era-defining player blessed with supernatural talent. 👽 He was a bit of everything; a winger, a striker; and a playmaker. He provided a bridge between the other 2 members; he was the machine that made the MSN tick. Messi’s ability to pick a pass to perfection, and predict the spaces for his partners BEFORE the space even opened up was unquanitifably important.

Together, they formed a strike partnership that ruled European football for years. No team on the planet scored more goals than the MSN during their reign in Europe. 💀

The beauty of this South American trident was that while on the pitch they were fierce; off the pitch they were the best of friends, be it in training or on the mall shopping together. They defended each other during fights with other teams, and in every goal scored by one u could see nothing but sheer happiness by the other 2. They enjoyed assisting each other as much as they enjoyed scoring. 💛

It is perhaps this selflessness which propelled the MSN into the footballing history books forever.
