Rebuild. Resurrect. Relive. The Barca way.

Real Madrid won their 12th Champions League trophy and became the first team to win the trophy back to back in Champions League history, after brushing aside an uncharacteristically weak Juventus side. I cannot understand how could the strongest defense in Europe fall prey at the biggest stage in Club football. Absolute bottlers.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace in the final, effectively ensuring that he will win this years Balon Dor and the Fifa ‘The Best’ award. And deservedly too, i have to say. He has scored 10 goals just in the quarterfinals, semifinals and the final this season in the Champions League. Yep. You read that right.

Ofcourse, for a Barca fan all this would be excruiciating to bear and watch. But deep down, deep deep down, every culé(Barca fan) knows that their club never deserved to win anything more than the Copa Del Rey title which they won this season. But that is all done and dusted. All that matters is the next season.

All that matters is the club.

Barca face the start of a new era with Ernesto Valverde as manager. Now, we Rebuild. Rebuild the team that conquered Europe more than half a decade ago. With an ageing squad in Messi, Gerad Pique and Iniesta all above their 30’s, we start by blooding the first team with players from the famed La Masia, the clubs youth academy.

And in that, we Resurrect.

Resurrect Barca’s policy which saw them so much success in the past decade. Barca have to re-embrace their age old tradition of promoting youth academy players to the first team once again. Why change a winning formula? Why spend 50 million on players like Andre Gomes when we have the same talent in our youth academy? The old Barca way which saw them conquer the world is simple, yet effective.

Money is only meant to be spent on players like Neymar and Suarez, players which can add another dimension to Barca’s play. La Masia is more than capable of producing the Andre Gomes’s and the Paco Alcacer’s of the world. So we have to re-embrace La Masia to find our roots again. The same roots which led us to so much glory.
And from that, we Relive the old way. A wise man once said,

‘To enjoy the games of Barcelona is more important than winning’

And while we have been winning, albeit erratically; we havent enjoyed their football for quite some time. So its about time we started to. Relive the Barca way. Bring back our beautiful, exuberant possession-based football which saw us dominate the planet for more than a decade.

Ofcourse, a lot of this depends on the new manager, Ernesto Valverde. Personally, i believe that he will give the youth team players their chance to jump to the first team. I also believe that he will be tactically flexible, adapting to the needs of the team. And i have faith. In him, the players and the club.

Its our chance to recreate history.

Afterall, we are Barca.
